Ask Metric AI: Generating AI-Powered Dashboards

With Metric AI, you can ask any data-related question and receive a dynamically generated dashboard visualizing the answer.

For example, you can ask:

  • “Show me utilization by roles.”
  • “Show me the Profit Margin for 7thGen’s projects over the past month.”

How to Ask Metric AI

Note

To use this feature, you must have the Use AI Functionality and View Dashboards permissions.

  1. Click the “Ask Metric AI” button in the left-side menu’s upper left corner,

or use the corresponding input field at the top of the dashboards page.

  1. Enter your question and click the Create button.

  1. Metric AI will process your query and generate a dashboard based on your request.

Dashboards generated by AI come with the same tools as those created manually:

  • It can utilize cards, charts, and tables for a comprehensive view of your data.
  • These AI-generated dashboards also respect user permissions, meaning you will only see data you are authorized to access.
  • Additionally, AI-generated dashboards are fully editable, allowing you to make manual adjustments as needed.

Adding AI-Generated Widgets to Existing Dashboards

Note

To use this feature, you must have the Use AI Functionality and View Dashboards permissions. You also must be an Editor or Owner of the dashboard to modify it.

  1. If you’d like to add AI-generated widgets to an existing dashboard, switch to Edit Mode.

  1. Click the “Ask Metric AI: Add Widgets” button.

  1. Enter your question and click the Create button.

  1. The AI will generate and integrate new cards, charts, and tables directly into your current dashboard.
